Ari Sidman of UC-Santa Cruz and Jake King of Wisconsin-Whitewater have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Soccer Players of the Week.
Sidman, a junior forward from Thousand Oaks, CA (Westlake HS), tallied his first career hat-trick to account for all the scoring as UCSC beat NCAA Division II Academy of Art in the season opener.
King, a sophomore goalkeeper from McHenry, IL (McHenry West HS), recorded a shutout in UW-Whitewater's 2019 season opener, a 4-0 victory over Westminster (Mo.) on Sunday at Badger High School in Lake Geneva, WI. He tallied five saves and helped the Warhawks' defense limit the Blue Jays chances in the box as UW-W registered its nation-leading seventh consecutive win dating back to last season. King now has five shutouts in 13 career matches.
