The ACAA Men's Soccer Championship ended the same way the women's championship ended earlier in the day: with Thomas More taking home the win by virtue of penalty kicks. This time the score was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation against SUNY Delhi. Due to snow which had fallen throughout the game the overtime period was eliminated and the team moved directly to penalty kicks.
Stefan Correira opened the scoring when he knocked a header into the net in the 77th minute to give SUNY Delhi the lead. The only other goal was a Thomas More goal credited as an own goal in the 89:55, only five seconds before regulation expired.
Patrick Louis led Thomas More with three shots (all on goal). He was joined by Suli Kayed and Patrick Dames who also had three shots each. Jeff Paulin had six saves in the net for the Saints.
SUNY Delhi was led by the four shots of Carl Kernochan and the two shots of Tyler Ward, Juan Velez and Alhasane Sako. Marcos Andrino had nine saves in the net for the Broncos.
The match was very even with the Thomas More holding a slim 15-14 edge in shots while SUNY Delhi had a 9-6 edge in saves.
It was the third ACAA championship for Thomas More on the day as they had previously claimed the women's soccer and volleyball crowns.
