Katie Lundeen and Dylan Underwood of Finlandia have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Players of the Week.
Lundeen, a sophomore forward from Maple, WI (Northwestern HS), set the school single-game record for free throws made (14), tied the free throws attempted mark (16) and her points (36) tied for third best in school history in the Lions' win over St. Mary's (IN). In that game Lundeen was 11-of-19 from the floor and 14-of-16 from the line. In two games last week, Lundeen averaged 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and was honored on the Hope Tip-Off Tournament All-Tournament Team.
Underwood, a junior guard from Michigan City, IN (South Bend Clay HS), had a very strong week for the Lions over two games. Against Lakeland (Nov. 12) he just missed having a triple double as he had 25 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists with four steals and no turnovers in 39 minutes. Underwood scored 25 points again, this time vs. Lawrence (Nov. 16) and added six rebounds, five assists and three steals. For the week, 16 of his 20 rebounds were defensive and he was 19 of 43 (44.2%) from the field.
