Top-seed Thomas More and #2-seed Finlandia posted sweeps in the semifinals of the ACAA Championships. The two teams will face each other at noon ET for the conference championship. In the semifinals Thomas More eliminated SUNY Delhi and Finlandia bested Alfred State.
THOMAS MORE 3, SUNY DELHI 0 (25-13 , 25-10 , 25-19)
Thomas More hit .286 en route to a sweep of host SUNY Delhi and punching its ticket to the ACAA Championship on Sunday. The Saints, ranked #7 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, were led by eight kills of Madison Krumpelman and Jenna Mummert. Jessica Ginn had 17 digs and Jenna Fessler had 26 assists.
SUNY Delhi was led by a trio of players, Kristen Maslanka, Taylor Tsatsis and Witchney Clersainville, with five kills each. Shelby Nolan led the team defensively with 12 digs and Erica Prindle had 13 assists.
FINLANDIA 3, ALFRED STATE 0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19)
Marina Dalton had 11 kills to lead the Lions to a sweep of the Pioneers and set up a #1 vs. #2 seed match tomorrow for the league title. Kaisa Holstrom added seven kills while Nicole Anderson had six kills in the balanced Finlandia attack. Jessie Diaz led the defense with 21 digs while Anderson had 26 assists.
Madison Webster and Kiara Perkinds each connected on eight kills to lead Alfred State. Webster also added 23 digs to lead the defense while Sarah Raichlin contributed 28 assists.
