Julia Popova and Jessica Ginn of Thomas More have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Players of the Week.
Popova, a freshman middle/right side hitter from Sophia, Bulgaria (Beechwood HS), helped lead the 23rd-ranked Saints to a 4-0 record and remain undefeated last week and was named to the All-Tournament team at the Bluffton Spiketacular. She led the team in hitting with a .384 hitting percentage with 42 kills, one assist to go with nine blocks. In Thomas More's three-set win over No. 18 Ohio Northern, Popova had a match high 14 kills and five blocks.
Ginn, a sophomore defensive specialist Cincinnati, OH (Seton HS), also helped the Saints in the Bluffton tournament. She tallied a team-high 77 digs in the four matches, including 18 in the Saints' win over 18th-ranked Ohio Northern.
