Herba and Salatel Lead All-ACAA Women's Soccer Team

Katie Herba of SUNY Delhi and Michayla Salatel of Alfred State have been named Players of the Year and highlight the All-ACAA Women's Soccer Team as selected by the league's coaches. It is the second straight year that Salatel has earned the honor and both honorees played in the ACAA Championship tournament last weekend.

Alison VanScoter of Alfred State was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year while Kelsey Innes of SUNY Delhi and Alondra Hernandez-Garduno of Valley Forge are the Freshmen of the Year. Maddy Kim of Thomas More and Madison Papaj of Alfred State were honored as the Goalkeepers of the Year. Kim and Papaj faced off in the ACAA Championship game on Sunday. The match ended in a 0-0 draw with Thomas More claiming the title on penalty kicks.)

Statistical leaders on the first team include Kirsten L'Esperance in goals (23), assists (21), points (67), and shots (108) and Madison Papaj in save percentage (.835) and goals against average (1.05).

Both Herba and Salatel are repeat first-team selections from the inaugural 2017 All-ACAA Women's Soccer Team.

Lauren Mackay of SUNY Delhi was recognized by his peers as the Coach of the Year. She led the Broncos to the ACAA Championship semifinal and the team finished the season with a 11-4 mark.
