Michayla Salatel of Alfred State and of Barbara Camilo of Mills have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer Players of the Week.
Salatal, a senior forward/midfielder from Geneseo, NY (Geneseo HS), netted both goals in a 2-0 victory over SUNY Canton. She also netted a goal in limited action in a 9-0 victory over Villa Maria.
Camilo, a sophomore, dominated the back line denying a composed and dominant UC Santa Cruz team. She stretched her full height of 5'8'' to be first to every ball out of the air, denying crosses, denying shots from outside the 18, and helping to consistently break down the Banana Slugs' attempts on goal. Her tenacity in the back line and defensive organization helped her team to achieve a 2-0 loss, the lowest scoreline against UC Santa Cruz in Mills College history.
