Madison Webster Volleyball - Offensive Alfred State Corning NY (Corning Painted Post HS) Webster, a senior outside hitter/libero, had a big weekend at the Lycoming Tournament. She recorded double-doubles in all three matches. In a 3-2 victory over Penn State Altoona she finished with 18 kills and 22 digs, in a 3-1 loss to Medaille she had 17 kills and 17 digs, and in a 3-0 loss to Lycoming she shad 10 kills and 12 digs. She also recorded five service aces on the weekend. For the week she averaged 3.75 kills, 4.25 digs and 0.42 service aces per set.
Albert Senyah Men's Soccer - Offensive Alfred State College Long Island NY (Central Islip HS) Senyah, a senior forward, was part of the three of the Pioneers' four goals on the week. He recorded an assist in a 2-2 tie vs. St. John Fisher and then was part of both goals in a 2-0 win vs. SUNY ESF. He scored the opening game-winning goal on a PK and set up the insurance goal with a beautiful touch pass Senyah leads the team in scoring on the year.
Noah Raisanen Men's Soccer Defensive Finlandia University Buffalo MN (Buffalo HS) Raisanen, a freshman goalkeeper, had a strong week as the Lions went 0-1-1. He gave up three goals in 200 minutes and had 17 saves. Raisanen made a big save just before the clock expired in the second overtime to preserve a 1-1 tie vs. Crown (Oct. 4).
Ashley Aho Women's Cross Country Finlandia University Hancock MI (Hancock HS) Aho, a junior, posted a 5K time of 22:40.70 to finish 126th in the event that drew competitors from across all NCAA divisions. Aho has now been the first Lion across the line in all 15 of her collegiate career races. Finlandia finished 22nd as a team.
Kristen L'Esperance Women's Soccer - Offensive Finlandia University Brighton MI L'Esperance, a junior midfielder, had a huge week to lead Finlandia to a 4-0 mark. She had seven goals with six assists for 20 points. L'Esperance had the game-winning goal against Northland College (Oct. 1) and Crown (Oct. 4) and assisted on the game-winning goal vs. Grace Christian (Oct. 6) and Mount Mary (Oct. 7). She had a hat trick against Crown and set the school single-game record with five assists vs. Mount Mary.
Haley Makela Women's Soccer - Defensive Finlandia University Atlantic Mine MI (Jeffers HS) Makela, a senior goalkeeper, also had a monster week for the Lions. She gave up one goal, posted three shutouts and had 14 saves in 374 minutes, 46 seconds of action. Makela broke the single-season record for wins and shutouts and set the career record for minutes played against Grace Christian.
