TMU's Temple and Bertsch Crowned Players of the Week

Madison Temple and Garren Bertsch of Thomas More have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Players of the Week.

Temple, a senior guard from Cincinnati, OH (Anderson HS), helped lead the second-ranked Saints to an 82-46 win over Saint Vincent in their lone game last week. She scored a game-high 20 points as she shot 69.2 percent (9-of-13) from the field and was two-of-two from the free-throw line. Temple also pulled down four rebounds and had two assists and two blocks. Her two assists gave her 531 career assists and tied her for the all-time record at Thomas More.

Bertsch, a sophomore guard/forward from Alexandria, KY (Campbell County HS), ed the Saints to an 80-63 win over Waynesburg in their lone game last week. He shot 66.6 percent (8-of-12) from the field, including 66.6 percent (4-of-6) from behind the arc to score a game-high 20 points. Bertsch pulled down five rebounds and had one steal in the game.
