Epperson and Carlson Slam Player of the Week Awards

Amissa Epperson of Pratt and Austin Carlson of Finlandia have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Players of the Week.

Epperson, a junior center from Jersey City, NJ (McNair Academic HS) scored 23 points, pulled down nine rebounds and blocked nine shots in a 51-32 win over Five Towns College. She hit 11-of-17 shots from the floor and added three assists while playing all 40 minutes.

Carlson, a senior forward from Crystal Falls, MI (Crystal Falls Forest Park HS), had a monster week for the Lions. He had three double-doubles to push his streak to four. He capped the week with a 33 point, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots performance vs. Siena Heights. He also moved to fourth on the career blocked shot list and was the 11th Lion to record 400 career rebounds. For the week he averaged 20.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game while shooting 65.0% from the field (26-40).
