Emily Schultz of Thomas More and Jordan Fragale of SUNY Delhi have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Players of the Week.
Schultz, a junior forward from Melbourne, KY (Bishop Brossart HS), helped lead the second-ranked Saints to a 73-55 win over seventh-ranked University of Mary Hardin Baylor last week in Texas. She recorded a double-double with a game-high-tying 19 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Schultz shot 58.3 percent (7-12) from the field, while blocking one shot and recording one steal.
Fragale, a junior guard from Baldwinsville, NY (C.W. Baker HS), led the Broncos to wins over Northern Vermont-Lyndon (86-60) and Maine-Fort Kent (76-54). He averaged 18.5 points and 8.0 assists per game while hitting 55.6% of his field goals (15-27) and 70% from the free throw line (7-10). The Broncos now hold a four-game winning streak.
