Saints Sweep Basketball Honors

Madison Temple and Damion King of Thomas More have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Players of the Week.

Temple, a senior guard from Cincinnati, OH (Anderson HS), helped lead the second-ranked Saints to wins over Wesleyan (Conn.) and California Lutheran last week and remain undefeated at 15-0. She averaged 29 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, while dishing out 11 assists, recording five steals and blocking one shot. In the win over Wesleyan, Temple scored 30 points, pulled down three rebounds and had seven assists, while setting Thomas More's career made field goal record. She followed that up with 28 points, five rebounds, four steals and four assists in the win over Cal Lutheran. For the week she shot 70.0 percent (21-30) from the field including a three-point clip of 60.0% (3-5). She hit 13 of 14 free-throw attempts.

King, a senior guard from Winchester, KY (George Rogers Clark HS), helped lead the Saints to a 1-2 record win a 78-47 win over across-the-river rival Mount St. Joseph. In three games last week, he average 27.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, while leading the team in assists with 10 and recording three steals. King scored a career-high 35 points against Transylvania. He shot 61.2% (30-49) from the field including a 58.3% (7-12) from three-point range. He also hit 14 of 15 free-throw attempts (93.3%)
