Madison Temple of Thomas More and Carlos Ithier of SUNY Delhi have been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Players of the Week.
Temple, a senior guard from Cincinnati, OH (Anderson HS), helped lead the fifth-ranked Saints to a 2-0 record last week at the 17th Annual Julie Costello Memorial Classic - presented by Barleycorn's. She was named the classic's Most Valuable Player (MVP) as she averaged 23.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while dishing out 14 assists and recording five steals in 23.0 minutes per game. Thomas More defeated Maryville 106-44 and La Roche 95-39.
Ithier, a junior guard from Norwich, NY (Norwich HS), averaged 17.5 points per game while shooting 52.6% from the floor as the Broncos split a pair of games sandwiched around the Thanksgiving holiday. Ithier shot 7-for-8 from 3-point range to lead team with 23 points in 96-66 win over SUNY Cobleskill Sunday. The Broncos dropped a close 89-84 road tilt against New Paltz earlier in the week.
